“In spring, flowers conquer the sky.
No longer needing butterflies,
Every blossom has gentle wings,
Each one carries its fragrance.”
— Gu Cheng, “Dreams”
The Spring Festival is the most important holiday of the year for Chinese people.
People bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, celebrating the New Year by sowing their best wishes at this moment, so they may bloom into brilliant flowers in the coming year.
As the sun and moon cycle, the seasons change, and when the new spring arrives, hope and beauty will dispel the gloom and come to us all.

We hope that at this fresh start, we can feel a profound warmth and witness the clarity of all things.
Spring, a season that nurtures hope, is why we welcome its arrival with such passion.
Spring blossoms, bursting with brilliant colors, only shine their brightest during this romantic time of year.

On this New Year occasion, VIVA Travelers presents to everyone a “Flower Wonderland” map for the new year,
Wishing all travelers a Happy New Year, blooming with every step, a vibrant spring like a tapestry of flowers, and adding grace to the new year.

01
Yili Apricot Blossoms*
April is a season of romance. From the rain-soaked river valleys, apricot blossoms, warm sunshine, and hope bloom forth.
At this time, Kanas is still covered in snow, and the blue ice of Sayram Lake hasn’t melted yet, but the apricot blossoms in Yili Apricot Valley have already covered the hillsides.
It’s as if overnight, the mountains and fields are bursting with a wild, intoxicating bloom.

As far as the eye can see, apricot blossoms bloom like clouds and rosy haze, transforming valleys, ridges, and hollows into a sea of pink.
This is a grand spectacle you must witness once in a lifetime! This is a glimpse and wild reverie spanning 1,500 years!
This primitive wild apricot forest, surviving from the Middle Ages to the present day, now covers over 30,000 mu.

Yili River Valley shatters every notion of “misty rains and apricot blossoms in Jiangnan,” unleashing instead a wild, untamed aesthetic.
Cattle and sheep graze quietly on the grasslands, the crisp clatter of hooves stirring up drifting petals.
The Kazakh herders have grown old watching this apricot grove, and the grove has grown old watching the herders.
Horses, grasslands, snow-capped mountains, and the fiery apricot grove blaze brilliantly in the April of the Tianshan Mountains.
02
Nyingchi Peach Blossoms***
Tibet is the place closest to heaven.
In March, Nyingchi casts a dream beneath heaven — a dream of the Jiangnan region.
Deep within the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, a real-life “Peach Blossom Shangri-La” stands isolated from the world.
Fields and paths crisscross, herds of cattle and sheep roam, and Tibetan-style houses peek out from among the peach trees.
Stretching for 20 kilometers, Peach Blossom Valley is alive with countless pink sprites dancing and leaping through the air.
Here, the Yarlung Tsangpo River takes one last look at Mount Namcha Barwa before rushing into the Indian Ocean, leaving behind the Jiangnan-like spring of Tibet.
Glaciers and snowy peaks flicker through the distant mist, while peach groves and seas of blossoms sway in the valley before you.
From the Serjila Pass to Bomi, and then to the pastoral river valley, we ventured deeper along the way, the colors growing richer until we finally fell into a pink dream.
Here, take a short hike through the canyon, draped in peach blossoms, gazing at the distant snow-capped mountains. In just five kilometers, it feels like you’ve traveled between reality and a dream, through all four seasons and across mountains and rivers.

Luoping Rape Flowers
Every February, while other provinces are still shivering in the bitter cold, a hint of spring in Luoping has already awakened thousands of acres of blossoms.
China’s first touch of spring blooms freely in the wind, along with the golden rape flowers.
Beneath Golden Rooster Peak, a sprawling 800,000 mu of rapeseed flower fields stretches out, recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest natural garden.
When a gentle breeze blows through the golden waves of flowers, all your senses suddenly come alive.
The peaks become islands rising and falling, surging and sinking within this vast sea of blossoms.
Beneath the Snail Shell Terraces, green and yellow create two dazzling colors dancing in the sea of flowers. Besides rapeseed flowers, other crops are planted in these terraces, giving birth to such a magnificent and vibrant scene.
Take a stroll through the snail shell terraces, embrace the morning mist and sunrise atop the Golden Rooster Peak, feast your eyes on the golden abundance, and witness the growth of all things.
A day full of warmth, richness, and joy.
Luoping is not only blessed with beautiful spring scenery but is also a low-key and cozy little town, with the graceful and gentle Duoyi River, the quiet and serene Bala Mountain, and the ordinary yet content Luoping people.
The colors of spring here are a lazy kind of brilliance, a relaxed kind of unrestrained freedom.
04
Bijie Azaleas***
March arrives, and the azaleas in Bijie, Guizhou bloom.
This province, devoid of any plains, is destined to be extraordinary even in spring.
Vibrant purples and reds sprawl across the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with a warm spring in vivid colors and radiant scenery filling the eyes.Bijie, Guizhou — wildness rages and spreads here like crazy, unfolding across this karst mountain forest with tens of thousands of acres of blooming azaleas.
The world’s largest primitive azalea belt and the world’s largest azalea tree make this place a “miraculous wonder”.
You might hardly imagine that a single plant could turn a stretch of land into a world-class, breathtaking spectacle.
This rhododendron forest is known as the “Earth’s Ribbon of Color”, where all kinds of azaleas compete in beauty, stretching on and on.
They are like clusters of flames about to burn all the way to the horizon, setting the green of the prairie ablaze into a dazzling red.
They dance, they sing—because spring is supposed to be this wild, this extreme.
When you cross the mountains and rivers of Guizhou and tumble headlong into this softness and wildness, the rhododendrons hand spring right over to you.
05
Gengwang Lake Buckwheat Flowers**
This is a touch of spring that 99% of people will miss. The word “hidden paradise” seems to have been coined just for this place.
The name Gengwang Lake might be a complete blank for most people.
Western Guangxi, in particular, is a secret treasure only ventured into by the most niche travelers.
Buckwheat flowers are also a lesser-known species on China’s flower-viewing map, where the spring scenery can’t be contained within garden walls.
And when these two ultimate rarities meet in the April spring, your world will be covered in “snow.”
The thousands of acres of buckwheat flowers blooming like snow will make you feel as if you’re in northern China, yet the full view of soil, clear waters, and floral scents pulls you back to the leisurely spring of western Guangxi.
The flower language of buckwheat is lover; what sways by the emerald-like Gengwang Lake is a white love song.
As if at any moment, the petals will be blown by the spring breeze and kiss my cheek; as if at any moment, the wheat waves will murmur a few whispers, speaking sweet nothings.
***Waiting for someone to go with me to Gengwang Lake, waiting for someone to go with me to Western Guangxi.***06
