These “small but beautiful” cultural spaces serve enterprises, institutions, and community residents, showcasing Xi’an’s deep commitment to building public culture, empowering grassroots cultural development, and bringing high-quality public cultural resources directly to the grassroots. Let’s take a look at their charm!

With a building area of about 200 square meters and around 2,000 books, it is located inside Textile Park. Opened in October 2024, it covers about 217 square meters and is a key practice of Xi’an’s “15-minute reading circle” in sports venues. Built to the standard of “small but refined, comprehensive and excellent,” it serves community residents around the Olympic Sports Center, event spectators, fitness enthusiasts, and families. It receives over 100 readers daily and has served more than 30,000 people in total.

Covering about 500 square meters with 60 reading seats and over 7,000 books, it features a “culture + reading + film + intangible cultural heritage” theme, creating a “reading forest” in the business district. It collaborates with the Xi’an New Dream Film Museum to offer an integrated experience of reading, exhibition, and exploration.

Covering about 320 square meters with over 8,000 books spanning multiple categories to meet the reading needs of all ages, it includes functional areas such as a public reading main space, a picture book area, and an e-reading area. It creates a composite reading space that integrates public reading, parent-child bonding, cultural heritage, and community connection.

Next, Xi’an will continue to promote new public cultural spaces represented by “city studies,” leveraging the rich cultural resources of municipal and district-level public cultural institutions. This will bring high-quality public cultural resources directly to the grassroots, continuously improving public awareness, participation, and satisfaction with public cultural services, so that residents can enjoy convenient and high-quality public cultural services right at their doorstep.
