Park ticket options can be a bit complex, so let me break it down.
Hong Kong Disneyland tickets have 4 tiers, from regular days and weekends to holidays and peak holidays—prices go up with each tier.
This time, the tickets don’t include the 4th tier dates.
When ordering a tier-based ticket, you don’t need to pick a date, just the tier. Once you’ve settled on your visit date, log into the mini-program to make a reservation.
A Tier 1 ticket can only be used for Tier 1 dates, not Tier 2 or 3.
A Tier 2 ticket can be used for Tier 1 and 2 dates, but not Tier 3.
A Tier 3 ticket can be used for Tier 1, 2, and 3 dates.
The price is already great—adult tickets are about 30% off the official price.
Each ticket also comes with a free HKD 50 merchandise voucher and a HKD 10 dining voucher.
Don’t let the short validity period fool you; this is the best time to hit Hong Kong Disneyland during a mini off-season. You can catch the last month of the 20th anniversary or join the Pixar Summer Party.
The HKD 50 merchandise voucher is super handy.
It’s not one of those “spend a few hundred to save 50” deals—it has no minimum spend.
For example, you could grab something for HKD 59 and only pay HKD 9.
In past years, they often sold ticket bundles with specific dolls or headbands, which was hit or miss depending on your tastes.
But this year’s no-minimum voucher approach is way more flexible. You can pick what you like, making it much more practical.
The HKD 10 dining voucher can be used at designated restaurants after 4:30 PM.
Every little bit counts, especially since food at Hong Kong Disneyland isn’t cheap.
When you’re at the park, afternoon is when you get tired, especially in summer when energy drops fast. Finding a restaurant to grab a bite and cool off with air conditioning makes a huge difference.

Why stay at a Disney hotel?
When visiting the park, I always
I highly recommend staying at the official hotel. Because most of the time, what really wears people out isn’t the rides, but the “rushing around.”
When you stay at the Hong Kong Disneyland hotel, the whole pace slows down.
Exclusive Shuttle Service
If you’re staying at a Disney hotel, after a full day of walking, you can hop on the shuttle and be back at the hotel in just a few minutes. By the time others are still squeezing onto the subway, you’ll already be in your room editing your photos with ease.
Exclusive Park Entrance
Hong Kong Disneyland is never too intense, so you can wake up, take your time, and enter through the dedicated entrance—security and lines are super smooth.
Luggage Storage Service
You can store your luggage for free either before you check in or on check-out day before heading to the park. I remember luggage storage at the park entrance costs 150 HKD, so this saves you about 300 HKD.
Hotel Gift Shop
Before even entering the park, you can grab all kinds of Disney gear without having to lug a giant bag of “spoils” around the park. Isn’t it much nicer to shop at the hotel?
Plenty of Entertainment
The public areas of the Disney hotels have lots of fun craft activities, plus amenities like pools, multiple restaurants, tennis courts, and a maze garden. You could easily spend a whole day just at the hotel.
And if you’re staying at any Disney hotel, you get access to the recreation services and facilities of all the hotels.
Disney Friends
You might also run into Disney friends at the hotel, and you can interact with them with almost no wait time.
How to Choose Among the Three Disney Hotels?
Hollywood Hotel offers the best value, with all kinds of movie-themed elements, perfect for families staying at a Disney hotel for the first time.
Explorer’s Lodge is the newest, themed around four continents. It has a relaxing tropical adventure vibe, great for a vacation.
Disneyland Hotel is the classic fairy-tale style. That first stay really gives you that “this is exactly how I imagined a Disney hotel as a kid” feeling.
Next up—why is it so busy at Hong Kong Disneyland this summer?
Countdown to the 20th Anniversary Celebration
Most importantly, the 20th-anniversary celebration wraps up on June 7th. If you haven’t seen the new parade floats, castle parties, and drone fireworks, now’s the time to go!
We wrote a very detailed guide on the 20th anniversary last year: “The 20th Anniversary Party Kicks Off Big—Full of Fun, Lasting All Year!”
Also, the Duffy and Friends spring sailor-themed merchandise ends on June 7th. Duffy and friends will appear in spring sailor outfits on the castle stage alongside other Disney characters.
Pixar Summer Fest Takes Over
From June 12th to August 31st, it’s the Pixar Summer Fest at Hong Kong Disneyland. Characters from Toy Story, Inside Out, Monsters, Inc., Up, and more will be out in full force. The fun really extends from the park to the hotel, and from day into night.
What I love most about Hong Kong Disneyland is that it’s not just a “Duffy park”—it doesn’t favor one IP. Instead, it gives “equal love” to all the classic IPs.
New Nighttime Show: “Pixar Friends Starry Sky Gala”
This shows before the “Disney Star Dream Light Journey” fireworks, combining drones, castle projections, and Main Street U.S.A. light projections to guide us through touching Pixar friendship stories under the stars.
Explore All of Hong Kong Disneyland with Pixar Friends
Beyond the classic characters, Mei from Turning Red, Miguel from Coco, and Merida from Brave will be joining the interactions.
Classic Summer “Pixar Water Street Party” Returns
Hong Kong summers are hot, so this refreshing interactive event is a perfect match.
Why Recommend Hong Kong Disneyland?
Family and Lazy-Friendly
The crowds at Hong Kong Disneyland aren’t huge. As long as you avoid peak days, ride wait times are usually under 10 minutes. The park isn’t too big, either, so you don’t have to walk a ton between rides—no tired legs.
Screenshot of park wait times at 1:00 PM on a weekday.
The park doesn’t open too early, so you can sleep in before entering. And whether it’s shows or character interactions, the lines aren’t intense.
Even during a short holiday peak, an Early Entry Pass (185 RMB) or an 8-item Priority Pass (399 RMB) will let you comfortably enjoy the popular rides. But if you want an even smoother experience, I’d suggest booking at least one night at the hotel. If you’re aiming for a non-hectic park visit, see it through.
More Magical, More Immersive
You rarely see scalpers, unlicensed guides, or commercial photographers in the park. Most visitors are truly there to enjoy the park itself. The staff always bring great energy and interaction, and line-cutting is uncommon.
The fireworks at Hong Kong Disneyland might not be the most spectacular among all Disney parks worldwide, but they are definitely magical enough.
How to Explore Hong Kong Disneyland?
There are 8 themed areas in the park, which is a moderate size. In the off-season, you can finish everything in one day. But there are some longer-wait rides, so planning a route helps.
Recommended Route:
World of Frozen → Toy Story Land → Mystic Manor → Grizzly Gulch → Adventureland → Fantasyland → Tomorrowland → Main Street, U.S.A.
World of Frozen
This is currently the most popular area, still the world’s first Frozen-themed land, with a highly accurate recreation of Arendelle. I suggest heading straight to “Frozen Ever After” when the park opens, since it gets busier later.
It’s a boat ride into the world of Frozen, where you’ll see Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and more, with a small drop at the end. Not too thrilling, but full of atmosphere.
Olaf is now “running around the park”! This is actually part of the high-immersion AI character interaction technology that Hong Kong Disneyland has been developing. What’s impressive about Disney isn’t the AI itself, but how they hide the tech—you’ll feel like Olaf really stepped out of the movie and lives there.
Toy Story Land
Entering Toy Story Land makes you feel like you’ve been dropped into Andy’s toy box—giant blocks, springs, toy soldiers, paper airplanes… the whole scale feels off-balance. “RC Racer” is one of the most underestimated thrilling rides at the park. Many people see the track looks low and think it’s just a “kiddie coaster,” but when you actually ride it, the weightlessness is intense!
Mystic Manor
Mystic Manor is unique to Hong Kong Disneyland worldwide. In my opinion, “Mystic Manor” is my number two ride. It has no movie IP or big-name characters, but relies on story, atmosphere, transitions, and Disney’s top-tier storytelling to become a beloved classic among Disney fans worldwide. As you follow the manor owner into the collection room, all the exhibits suddenly “come to life.” The transitions, lighting, music, and effects are all incredibly smooth.
Starting May 17, the monkey Albert is also making appearances. If you’ve played Mystic Manor, you know Albert isn’t just any monkey—he’s the cause of all the “trouble” in the manor. Now you can meet him in that area.
Grizzly Gulch
If I had to recommend just one ride at Hong Kong Disneyland, it would be “Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars.” The ride takes you through the valley, with a thrilling backward plunge from the mountaintop and an exciting final acceleration. The whole area has a great atmosphere, evoking an American Wild West town.
Cowboy-style Mickey, Chip, and Dale often hang out here—it’s a great spot for photos.
Adventureland
The highlight of “Jungle River Cruise” is honestly the captain. Follow a “dramatic” captain speaking Mandarin, Cantonese, and English on an adventure river journey.
Fantasyland
Fantasyland has the highest concentration of fairy-tale magic. Carousel, Dumbo, “It’s a Small World”… there are plenty of rides for young kids. Board the “It’s a Small World” boat and meet children from around the world, singing the classic peace song. Don’t miss the “Disney Storybook Theater”—the live musical performances are breathtaking. In those 28 minutes, you’ll see Mickey, Goofy, Olaf, Elsa, Ariel, Rapunzel, Aladdin, and more—singing along to classic songs.
Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland is heaven for Marvel and thrill-seekers. “Iron Man Experience” is the world’s first Marvel-themed Disney ride, very immersive. Who doesn’t want to save Hong Kong with Iron Man? “Hyperspace Mountain” is the so-called “spin cycle”—it takes you into Star Wars scenes, and during lightspeed, you feel like you’re really aboard the Millennium Falcon. With constant acceleration, spins, and sharp turns in the dark, it’s probably the most intense coaster at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Main Street, U.S.A.
A retro and charming street lined with shops—it’s hard not to spend. It’s perfect for a final shopping spree before leaving the park. In the “Animation Academy,” follow the instructor to become an imagineer and draw your own Disney artwork.
This is a niche project, I’m recommending it just because I really like it.
This is also the best spot to watch the parade and fireworks show, so you can come early to save a seat.
What to eat at Hong Kong Disneyland?
Honestly, the food costs at Hong Kong Disneyland are not cheap, so I suggest you buy the 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 meal voucher.
If you’re having dinner, you can use the 10 HKD voucher that comes with our tickets.
The best-tasting food is actually the fried chicken basket at the Rocket Restaurant (Tomorrowland)—the freshly fried chicken is so tender and juicy.
If you want a front-row seat for the fireworks without saving a spot early, you can go for the Big Grizzly Explorer’s Semi-Buffet (Mystic Manor) with a fireworks premium viewing spot, and go all out on the honey-glazed chicken wings.
For snacks, go for the turkey legs from the food cart (Adventureland)—it’s a Disneyland classic.
Also, the Starbucks on Main Street, U.S.A. has exclusive drinks, and you can even buy a limited-edition LinaBell collab cup.
What to buy at Hong Kong Disneyland?
Some stores have a 3-for-1 sale section where you can snag some deals👇🏻
Stark Tech (Tomorrowland), Pooh’s Corner (Hundred Acre Wood), Tick Tock Gifts (Arendelle), Andy’s Toy Box (Toy Story Land), The Explorer’s Emporium (Mystic Manor)
The Castle Jewelry Store has many Disney-exclusive Chow Tai Fook items, and all kinds of gold Disney characters are exquisitely crafted.
The most complete selection is actually on the streets of Main Street, U.S.A., where you can grab all sorts of favorite items at once.
How to get to Hong Kong Disneyland?
🚄Departing from the city/ West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station: Subway is recommended.
✈️Departing from Hong Kong Airport: It’s recommended to take Bus S1 to Tung Chung Station and then transfer to the subway—taking the airport express line directly is very expensive.
🏙Departing from Shenzhen: Cross-border buses/ride-sharing/subway are recommended.
Finally, as usual, a summary.
This time, there are both parent-child tickets and single tickets, and there are also no-brainer packages including hotel + tickets, so you can choose based on your needs.
The hotel vouchers have a long validity period, so stocking up on them is reassuring, and you can always cancel anytime.
19 days left to celebrate the 20th anniversary. If you haven’t seen Hong Kong Disneyland’s new parade, drone fireworks, and new castle show yet, don’t miss out on this one!
