Rooted in the cultural veins of Shaanxi, answering a ten-year promise. Earlier this year, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement, making it clear that the China Dance Lotus Award will be held in Shaanxi for ten consecutive years. As the highest honor in Chinese dance art, the Lotus Award is deeply tied to the millennia-old cultural legacy of the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang dynasties in the land of Shaanxi, empowering each other and allowing top-tier dance art to take root in Shaanxi’s soil, continue Chinese cultural heritage, and inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of Shaanxi’s literary and artistic endeavors.

This 2026 China Dance Lotus Award tour will last twelve days, spanning four cities—Xi’an, Weinan, Yan’an, and Xianyang—breaking down the barriers of high art, pushing high-quality cultural resources down to the grassroots and benefiting the public, allowing people to experience the unique charm of top dance art up close, truly making art a part of everyday life and culture a part of people’s hearts.

The final stop of the Silk Road Joy World tour innovatively breaks through performance forms, shattering the boundaries of traditional theater. For the first time, it deeply integrates the Lotus Award’s finest touring shows with theme park settings. With the core theme “Silk Road Starting Point · World Dancing Together,” it blends Eastern classical elegance with the fresh artistic innovation of the new era. This creates an immersive, scenic, and diverse top-tier dance art feast, giving traditional dance art a new sense of live expression and contemporary resonance.

This final performance features a stellar lineup of top-tier dancers and a rich variety of genres, bringing together China’s finest dance talents. It includes a diverse selection of exceptional works spanning modern dance, contemporary dance, and ethnic folk dance, showcasing the breadth and depth of Chinese dance art in all its forms. The program is layered and profound in its arrangement: opening with the modern dance Wind, which uses fluid and expansive body language to reinterpret natural imagery, embodying the fusion of strength and beauty in dance; followed by Grain Rain, a delicately nuanced physical narrative that vividly captures the vitality and pulse of life as the 24 solar terms shift, tenderly expressing the beauty of the four seasons.

The avant-garde dance piece Wandering in Time uses highly innovative dance vocabulary to deeply explore the dialectical relationship between time and life, blending artistic beauty with philosophical reflection, and offering the audience profound inspiration. Meanwhile, the folk dance and contemporary dance sections feature a collection of outstanding works, with masterpieces like The Horse Bells Ring the Song of Happiness, Reverie by the Stream, Year After Year, Winter, and Stepping into the Light performed in rotation. Each piece presents poetic expressions of prairie charm, national pride, and the resilient spirit of life from different artistic perspectives, delivering powerful stage performances that strike the heart with visual impact and emotional resonance.

The grand finale of the show, “The Starting Point of the Silk Road: A World in Dance,” is spectacular and expansive in vision, perfectly aligning with the core positioning of Xi’an Silk Road Joy World as a cultural salon for the Belt and Road Initiative. Using dance as a medium, it vividly embodies the core spirit of the Silk Road culture—openness, inclusiveness, mutual learning, and connectivity—showcasing its diverse charm and contemporary renewal.

As the host venue for this tour, Xi’an Silk Road Joy World is a national 4A-level tourist attraction and China’s first large-scale cultural tourism theme park centered around Silk Road culture. This 2026 China Dance Lotus Awards Boutique Tour’s final stop landing at Silk Road Joy World not only adds a rich artistic undertone to the park’s integrated cultural and tourism development but also continuously polishes the city’s cultural business card of Shaanxi’s Silk Road heritage and Chang’an’s arts.
