Since early 2022, Wuhan City Landscape Asset Management (Group) Co., Ltd. has been innovatively developing the 5H+ brand system as its development vision based on the characteristics of the Hankow Historical District. It has also coordinated the planning and layout of businesses in the historical area, encouraged improvements in service quality and product offerings for cultural tourism and commerce, and revitalized the area’s cultural tourism and commercial atmosphere. Drawing on international practices for selecting commercial rankings, it has pioneered the annual “H+ Wuhan Travel Guide” list (H+ Guide of Hankow). Each year, based on data from the Meituan platform combined with on-site visits, industry experts and opinion leaders are invited to conduct objective, multi-dimensional evaluations of businesses in the historical district. The rankings are then released annually, providing every visitor with guidance and direction in the historical area.

At the ceremony, the original book The Story of the Baker Building and the hand-drawn Panoramic Map of Hankou Historical and Cultural District were launched, delving into the area’s history and culture, uncovering the cultural fabric of old Hankou, and showcasing the vitality and overall image of the district.
Yu Zhicheng, the district mayor of Jiang’an, delivered an opening speech, stating: “Jiang’an currently has 62 distinctive alleyway neighborhoods, making it the best-preserved and most concentrated area of such residences in the city. In recent years, Jiang’an has partnered with cultural tourism groups, adhering to the principle of ‘restoring the old as it was, preserving the original appearance,’ and using meticulous efforts to progressively renovate, preserve, and revitalize these alleyway buildings one by one. Having weathered a century of change, Jiang’an now stands at a new historical starting point, embracing the role and responsibility of a ‘model district’ as it strides toward becoming a leading demonstration zone for a heroic city in the new era. We sincerely invite all visitors to come and explore Jiang’an.”
As the urban renewal developer and high-quality operator of the Hankou Historical and Cultural District, the Wuhan Cultural Tourism Group has adhered to the benchmark goals of “global vision, international standards, Chinese characteristics, and high-level positioning,” thoroughly implementing the municipal government’s plans for old-city renovation and business district upgrades in the area. The goal is to create a new cultural landmark and a fresh tourism highlight for the city. Wang Guangli, the group’s chairman, stated that they are following a model of “two axes leading, six zones coordinating, and flagship projects setting the example,” focusing on ecological restoration, old-city revival, and cultural heritage recovery. This has resulted in key areas such as the Qingfen Bustling Zone centered on the Minzhong Leyuan complex, the Qingdao Cultural Collection Zone around Baoyuanli and Hanrunli, the French Consulate Zone featuring Tongxingli and Taixingli, the Lanling Expo Zone anchored by the August 7th Meeting Site, the Tea Road, and the Baker Building, and the Sande Creative Zone around the former city archives. By effectively integrating top-tier domestic and international commercial operational resources and drawing on expert think tanks in cultural heritage, history, aesthetics, art, and architecture, they are collaborating with globally renowned brands and international artists. Taking these districts as units, using the renovation of historic buildings as showcases, and advancing development in a coordinated point-by-point manner, they aim to create urban renewal demonstration units combining high-end hotels, cultural tourism streets, and creative consumption spaces. This approach breathes new life into historic buildings and fosters the integrated development of culture and tourism within the district.
