“In spring, flowers take over the sky.
No need for butterflies anymore.
Each flower has a tender wing,
And each carries its fragrance.”
— Gu Cheng, Dream
Spring Festival is the most important holiday of the year for Chinese people.
People bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, celebrating the new year. At this moment, they sow their best wishes, which will bloom into brilliant flowers in the coming year.
As days and nights cycle, and the seasons change, when the new spring arrives, hope and beauty will dispel the gloom and descend upon us all.

We hope that at this fresh start, we can feel a deep warmth and witness the clarity of all things.
Spring, a season that nurtures hope, is why we embrace its arrival with such passion.
Spring flowers, blooming in brilliant colors, shine their brightest only in this romantic time of year.

On this festive New Year occasion, VIVA Travelers presents you with a “Flower World” map for the new year, wishing all travelers a Happy New Year, blossoms with every step, a splendid spring ahead, and even more blessings in the year to come.

01
Yili Apricot Blossoms*
April is a romantic season. In the valley bathed by spring rain, apricot blossoms, warm sunshine, and hope bloom.
At this time, Kanas is still covered in snow, and the blue ice of Sayram Lake hasn’t melted yet, but the apricot blossoms in Yili Apricot Blossom Valley have already covered the hillsides.
It’s as if overnight, the mountains are ablaze with blossoms, wild and resplendent.

As far as the eye can see, apricot blossoms bloom like clouds and rosy mist, draping the valleys, ridges, and hollows in a soft pink.
This is a spectacle you must witness once in a lifetime! This is a single glance spanning 1,500 years of nostalgia and wonder!
This ancient wild apricot forest, remaining from the Middle Ages, now covers over 30,000 mu.

The Yili River Valley shatters every preconception of “apricot blossoms in misty Jiangnan,” indulging instead in a wild and unbridled aesthetic.
Cattle and sheep graze quietly on the grasslands, while crisp horse hooves kick up drifting petals.
The Kazakh herders have grown old watching over this apricot grove, and the grove has grown old watching over them.
Horses, meadows, snow-capped peaks, and the fiery apricot forest—all blaze brilliantly in the Tianshan Mountains this April.
02
Nyingchi Peach Blossoms***
Tibet is the place closest to heaven.
In March, Nyingchi casts a dream under heaven—a dream of the Jiangnan.
At the deepest part of the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, a real-life “Peach Blossom Spring” stands isolated from the world,
with fields and paths crisscrossing, herds of cattle and sheep, and Tibetan-style houses nestled among the peach trees.
A 20-kilometer-long Peach Blossom Valley, where countless pink sprites dance and leap.
Here, the Yarlung Tsangpo River takes its last look at Namcha Barwa Peak before rushing into the Indian Ocean, leaving behind the Jiangnan of Tibet and its spring.
Glaciers and snow-capped mountains flicker in and out of the distant mist, while peach forests and seas of flowers sway in the canyon before you.
From the Segyi La Pass to Bomi, and then to the pastoral river valley, we journeyed deeper, the colors growing richer and richer, until we finally fell into a pink dream.
Here, take a short hike through the canyon, draped in peach blossoms, gazing into the distant snow-capped mountains. In just 5 kilometers, it’s as if you’ve traveled between reality and a dream, through the seasons and across the mountains and rivers.
03
Luoping Rapeseed Flowers***
Every February, while other provinces are still shivering in the bitter cold, Luoping’s touch of spring has already awakened thousands of acres of blossoms.
China’s first hint of spring blooms freely in the wind, alongside the golden rapeseed flowers.
At the foot of Golden Rooster Peak, a vast expanse of 80,000 mu of rapeseed flower fields stretches out, recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest natural, self-formed garden.
As the gentle breeze blows through the golden waves of flowers, every sense suddenly feels bright and alive.
The peaks emerge as undulating islands, rising and falling within this magnificent sea of blossoms.
Beneath Luosi Tian, green and yellow form two stunning colors dancing in the sea of flowers. Besides rapeseed flowers, other crops are planted in these terraced fields, giving birth to such a magnificent and colorful landscape.
Take a stroll in Luosi Tian, embrace the morning mist and sunrise at the top of Jinji Peak, feast your eyes on the golden splendor, and witness all things thriving.
A day full of warmth, abundance, and joy.
Luoping is not only beautiful in spring, but also a low-key and cozy little town, with the graceful and gentle Duoyi River, the quiet and serene Baila Mountain, and the ordinary yet content Luoping locals.
The colors of spring here are a lazy brightness, a leisurely freedom within exuberance.
04
Bijie Azaleas***
March arrives, and the azaleas in Bijie, Guizhou are in bloom.
This province, with not a single plain, is destined to be extraordinary in spring as well.
Vivid purples and reds spread across the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, a warm spring burst with colors, a feast for the eyes in the radiant light.Bijie, Guizhou—wildness runs rampant here, spreading fiercely across the karst mountains and forests where tens of thousands of acres of azalea blossoms blaze.
This is the largest primitive azalea belt on Earth, home to the biggest azalea tree in the world, making it a “miraculous existence.”
It’s hard to imagine that a single plant species could transform a region into such a world-class, breathtaking wonder.
This rhododendron forest is called “the colored ribbon of the Earth,” where blossoms of every color compete in beauty, stretching endlessly.
They blaze like flames ready to scorch the horizon, turning the green grasslands into brilliant red.
They dance, they sing—because spring should be exactly this wild and ultimate form.
When you cross the mountains and rivers of Guizhou and tumble headfirst into this softness and wildness, the rhododendrons hand spring right over to you.
05
Gengwang Lake Buckwheat Flowers***
This is a glimpse of spring that 99% of people will miss—the word “hidden gem” seems made for this place.
To most people, the name Gengwang Lake might be a complete blank.
Western Guangxi is even more of a secret, only explored by a tiny niche of travelers.
Buckwheat flowers are an equally little-known species on China’s flower-viewing map, where spring colors can’t be contained within garden walls.
And when these two extremes of obscurity meet in the April spring, your world turns into a “snowfall.”
The acres of buckwheat flowers, blooming like snow, make you feel as if you’re in the northern frontier, yet the earth, clear waters, and floral scents pull you back into the cozy spring of western Guangxi.
The language of buckwheat flowers is lovers; swaying by the jade-green Gengwang Lake, it’s a white love song.
As if at any moment, the petals might be blown by the spring breeze and kiss my cheek; as if at any moment, the wheat waves might whisper a few words, murmuring sweet nothings.
***Waiting for someone to go with me to Gengwang Lake, waiting for someone to go with me to western Guangxi.***06
