Northern Riders Prefer Luxury Cars While Southerners Seek Cost-Effectiveness: Insights into Chinese Cycling User Behavior (27-page PPT) | Lanxiong Think Tank

Cycling in China has seen tremendous growth over the past few years, with rapid increases in the number of events, participants, equipment sales, and more. According to People’s Daily Online, nearly 200 major cycling races were held across mainland China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) in 2016. This growth has attracted capital, and based on the “2016 China Sports Entrepreneurship White Paper” by Lazy Bear Sports, there were 19 financing rounds for cycling-related companies in China between January 2015 and April 2016, totaling over 350 million yuan. In 2016, the numbers slightly declined, with 10 financing rounds totaling nearly 330 million yuan over 12 months.

As the growth rate of the cycling population gradually slows, the demographic dividend is diminishing. Companies in the cycling industry are now focusing on uncovering the deeper needs of cycling enthusiasts to enhance monetization. To address this, the Lazy Bear Sports Industry Think Tank, in collaboration with the Xingzhe Big Data Lab, completed the “Cycling User Sports Research Report” by analyzing massive amounts of data.

In this report, the Lazy Bear Sports Industry Think Tank provided data analysis support, while the Xingzhe Big Data Lab supplied the raw data. Both parties hope that this report will help industry professionals gain a clearer understanding of their user profiles.
