Great promotions! If it weren’t for the big sale, where else could you encounter such a chaotic playground battle scene!
Today, I’m writing about Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park. During the 618 sale, they’re the real deal in the amusement park scene.
This Haichang 618 package is essentially buying a ticket and getting a hotel stay (with breakfast included) for free. The promotion is as solid as a Korean oppa holding a stabilizing pillar—awesome!
The park tickets are a sure bet, and the validity period covers the summer vacation, which is the peak season of the year. It’s rare to get such a discount!
Especially as summer approaches, the park’s activities are clearly picking up!
In May and June, Shanghai Haichang is hosting a Unique Ocean Festival with various limited-time events, performances, and even a dream collaboration with the Chinese animation gem Blade Master. They’ve also set up plenty of photo-worthy themed decorations.
If you come during the Dragon Boat Festival or summer break, it’ll be an even bigger event!
There’s a naked-eye 8D international light show, a 200-meter-long mecha parade formation, and a limited-time drone fireworks show—all must-sees, going nonstop from morning till night.
Anyway, my plan is solid. If it’s too hot during the day and I’m melting after a few steps, I’ll duck into indoor exhibition halls to see over 100,000 rare marine and polar animals. Then, at night, I’ll head outdoors for parades, fireworks, light shows—fun without the intense sun.
Following past trends, Shanghai Haichang will add various water activities during summer break, bringing localized artificial cooling to Lingang first!
Before ordering, remember to grab a coupon on any Shanghai Haichang product detail page.
Regular users can get a coupon for 70 yuan off orders over 498 yuan, while 88VIP members can get 80 yuan off orders over 498 yuan. The discount applies instantly after using the coupon.
- One night in a Superior King/Twin Room at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park Resort Hotel + Double Breakfast + Double Park Tickets: starting at 729 yuan after coupon (719 yuan for 88VIP).
Validity: May 21, 2026 – September 30, 2026. In May, June, and September, Saturday stays add 300 yuan per night; weekdays no surcharge. In July and August, Sunday-Friday adds 300 yuan per night, Saturday adds 500 yuan. June 18-20 adds 500-700 yuan per night, and September 24-30 adds 500-700 yuan per night.
- For Monday-Thursday check-ins before June 30, enjoy a complimentary double night exploration of ocean wonders.
Shanghai Haichang is in Lingang, a bit far from downtown Shanghai. I recommend staying overnight for a more relaxed and comfortable experience.
The package includes tickets that allow unlimited face-scan entry during your stay. Arrive early on the first day, register your face, store your luggage, and head straight into the park. You can enter and exit unlimited times during your stay (including the day after checkout) while the park is open—essentially making the ticket valid for two days!
Two park hotels accompany Shanghai Haichang. The resort hotel is closer to the park. Guests at both hotels can use a dedicated entrance without mingling with regular visitors, which is especially convenient for little ones needing naps.
The rooms at the Ocean Park Resort Hotel are ocean-themed, with six types: Sea Anemone Fish, Mermaid, Penguin, Dolphin, Coral, and Baby Shark. The hardware is the same, but the theme is assigned randomly.
For example, the picture below shows a superior room with a mermaid theme, but other themes are available too.
If you’re a group of 2 adults, 1 adult and 1 child, or 2 adults and 1 child (with the child meeting free entry conditions), grab this package.

Honestly, the value of two Shanghai Haichang tickets alone exceeds 738 yuan—the ticket price is higher than the package price. Plus, the package’s two-day unlimited entry is typically more valuable, making this 618 deal astonishing.
- One night in a Family Room at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park Resort Hotel + Breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child + Park Tickets for 2 adults and 1 child: starting at 1,029 yuan after coupon (1,019 yuan for 88VIP).
Validity: May 21, 2026 – September 30, 2026. In May, June, and September, Saturday stays add 300 yuan per night; weekdays no surcharge. In July and August, Sunday-Friday adds 300 yuan per night, Saturday adds 500 yuan. June 18-20 adds 500-700 yuan per night, and September 24-30 adds 500-700 yuan per night.
- For Monday-Thursday check-ins before June 30, enjoy a complimentary double night exploration of ocean wonders.
At Haichang, “child” refers to those 1-1.4 meters tall or aged 3-11 years. Tickets and hotel breakfast are free for children under 1 meter or 3 years old.
Whether you’re a group of 2 adults and 1 child (where the child doesn’t qualify for free entry) or 2 adults and 2 children (with one child not free), if the child doesn’t meet the free entry conditions, it’s cheaper to go for the family room package.
I’ll paste Haichang’s child policy to clarify. And staying in a family room really is much better with kids. This room type has a 0.9-meter bunk bed, perfectly fine for 2 adults and 2 children.
Family rooms also come in several different animal themes, assigned randomly.

Additionally, for Monday-Thursday check-ins before June 30, you’ll get a complimentary double night exploration of ocean wonders. This is a popular Haichang program making a comeback. After the park closes, a professional science instructor will guide you and your child through a 30-minute tour, explaining the nighttime habits of marine polar animals.
This exclusive activity for hotel guests normally costs 59 yuan per person. Even if you don’t come before June 30, I’d recommend paying for the experience—it’s really fun.
- One night in a Radiant Family Room at Shanghai Haichang Ultraman Theme Hotel + Breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child + Tickets for 2 adults and 1 child: starting at 1,229 yuan after coupon (1,219 yuan for 88VIP); Radiant Family Room 1 night + Breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child + Tickets for 2 adults and 1 child + Ice-Sealed Theater Package: starting at 1,529 yuan (1,519 yuan for 88VIP).
Validity: May 21, 2026 – September 30, 2026. In May and June, Friday stays add 200 yuan per night, Saturday adds 500 yuan. In July and August, Sunday-Friday adds 400 yuan per night, Saturday adds 800 yuan. Other surcharges and blackout dates are detailed on the product page.
If your child is a huge Ultraman fan, go for this hotel.
The room decor is similar to the resort hotel’s family room, with one 1.8-meter bed and one 0.9-meter bunk bed. But the standout is the emotional value the Ultraman hotel delivers.
From drawing a photo-energy card at check-in, to 105 rooms with different Ultraman themes (luck determines who guards you at night), to full Ultraman-themed welcome perks and Ultraman icon models everywhere… The “side effect” of staying at the Ultraman hotel is that a child who was just okay with Ultraman might become crazy about it!
For the add-on Ice-Sealed Theater package, it’s great for kids. The main story is a live-action Ultraman fighting monsters—you cheer on Ultraman. If your child is already a little Ultraman fan, there’s no reason to miss out.

Ultraman hotel rates are incredibly stable, with bare room prices starting at 1,500+ per night. This package essentially gives you free tickets with the room, and those tickets are valuable! Even with summer surcharges, it’s 99.85% likely cheaper with the package.
Let me introduce Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park to newcomers.
Haichang Ocean Park started in Dalian and has nearly 30 locations nationwide. Shanghai Haichang is the flagship, with a total investment of 5 billion yuan and covering about 550,000 square meters. It combines animal exhibits, themed entertainment, cultural leisure, science education, and spectacular performances.
In plain terms, it’s both an ocean park and a combo of amusement park and performance venue—one ticket covers a ton of fun.
Recommended route: Time and Space Cable Car – Volcano Rafting – Volcano Shark Pavilion – Underwater World Pavilion – Coral Jellyfish Pavilion – Ultraman Theme Pavilion – Iceberg Arctic Pavilion – Antarctic Penguin Pavilion – Sea Creature Exploration Pavilion. This way, you won’t backtrack too much.
I’d break down Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park into several parts:
- Marine Animal Viewing
Shanghai Haichang houses over 100,000 marine animals, with stars like orcas, beluga whales, dolphins, polar bears, and various penguins… Just among penguins, there are three species: emperor, Adélie, and gentoo. The penguin pavilion also has a rare two-story “penguin super bowl” where you can see penguins swimming overhead.
I can responsibly say that among all ocean parks in East China, none have more animals than Shanghai Haichang.
- Watching Shows
Shanghai Haichang has 10 major shows. For example, “Orca Legend” is a must-see—Shanghai Haichang is the only place in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai to see orcas, and you can watch up to six perform together.
“Dolphin Encounters” features nine dolphins jumping in unison for a dreamy performance.
“Sea Lion Comedy Show” stars a famous sea lion nicknamed “Little Qian…”
”.
And the mermaid underwater ballet performance “Mermaid Tale” is stunningly beautiful.
Anyway, last time I went to Shanghai Haichang, I couldn’t finish watching all 10 shows in one day—there were just too many, too busy!
- Ride the amusement attractions
Shanghai Haichang also has Dolphin Roller Coaster, Volcano Rafting, Time-Space Cable Car, Dome Theater, 4D Theater, and over a dozen other large rides. Except for the cable car and the Ice Theater, everything else is included with a single ticket, no extra payment needed.
Highly recommend the Dolphin Roller Coaster, which runs through most of the park. My experience was that it throws all sorts of continuous turns and backflips at you—the feeling of losing control is thrilling but also so much fun.
Volcano Rafting, on the other hand, combines rapids and a bowl-shaped pool, tackling both excitement and splashes. It’s a must-play in summer.
- Ultraman IP
Do you believe in light?
Taking kids to Shanghai Haichang, nine times out of ten, it’s for the Ultraman-themed zone.
After all, it’s the world’s first Ultraman-themed entertainment area, divided into five sections: the Ultraman exhibition area, Ultraman themed restaurant, Ultraman Ice Theater, Ultraman Light Shop, and Ultraman Game Center—all national firsts.
Kids just rattle off the names like they’re counting treasures, reciting a whole string of them smoothly. Every child automatically becomes a tour guide here, and suddenly you feel like their knowledge is immense.
There are also full-body statues of classic Ultraman from past generations, with over 400 authentic rare exhibits gathered with passion!
And you can grab a photo with the 12-meter-tall Ultraman statue, fulfilling your light-chasing experience all in one go!
Besides the static exhibits, the most anticipated spot in the venue is naturally the Ice Theater.
This is China’s first Ultraman-themed theater, with daily live shows custom-made for Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park. When I watched, the featured characters were the popular recent ones like Zero, Taiga, and Zeta.
At the same time, our livestream will take you to the scene at Shanghai Haichang, giving you a detailed tour~
Finally, the usual summary.
Haichang’s deals are really solid this time, standing strong compared to other parks.
There’s a peak-season surcharge in summer, but you can check the calendar room + ticket prices later—you’ll definitely thank yourself for snagging the room voucher early!
