Every old street has its wine and its stories!
In China
Every city has such an old street
That has weathered romance and sorrow
Witnessed prosperity and desolation

by Tuchong AllanChen
Every morning,
The first ray of sunlight in the city
Spills into the lively, smoke-filled streets,
And the scene
Is like a spring breeze brushing over Lugu Lake,
Or autumn rain soaking into Jiuzhaigou.
Bits of local dialects,
Words of old sayings—
They ring true to the ear,
They feel comforting to hear.

Perhaps
Someday
When you look back on the past
You’ll realize
It’s the old streets that become your most indelible memory
And the scenery you miss the most

Nanluoguxiang
Beijing

Nanluoguxiang
It was built during the same period as the Yuan Dynasty’s capital
and is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Beijing
with a history of over 740 years
Because the terrain was higher in the middle and lower in the north and south
like a hunched back man
it was named Luoguo (Hunchback) Lane
It wasn’t until the Qing Dynasty that it was renamed Nanluoguxiang

This place was once packed with mansions of high officials and nobles
Countless princely estates and grand courts lined the streets
But as time drifts on
From bustle to curtain call
It took no more than a blinkby Tuchong _Linvy

Standing on the city wall and looking far and wide,
Rows of ancient buildings
Are neatly spread out below.
A fine rain drifts in,
Stirring up unintended ripples,
Like flowers cast into the river of time.
A few patches of fragrant grass,
Some new willow branches,
Seem to whisper of the endless flow of life,
Singing of lonely memories.Walking along the foot of the city wall,
you might discover an ordinary story with a different kind of charm.

Blue stone slabs,
little stone bridges,
and narrow alleys.

Hefang Street
AnhuiHefang Street lies at the foot of Wu Hill,
a story that can’t be left untold about old Hangzhou.
It was once the “foot of the imperial city” in ancient capital Hangzhou,
having witnessed the prosperity of the Southern Song Dynasty,
as well as the daily bustle of the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Mountains and waters in hues,
Faint traces of old ink,
Recall the pointed riverbank,
Through wooden houses,
Past white walls,
Meeting a whisper of twilight glow.
In the clamorous market,
A breeze ripples,
Like a palace fan swaying freely in the wind,
Exuding elegance.by Tuchong Hongdaby Tuchong liudanyoungBeihai Old Street

Over the past century
The mottled white walls
The peeling stone skins
All tell stories of its former glory

Old Street
There’s tea and stories
Unchanged accents of home
Familiar memories
…
When it’s empty and quiet
I sigh over the past
I whisper of the years
The gentle breeze brushing the hair
Perhaps
That’s the old street
Leaving behind its finest days
