Sichuan Hanyuan
Giant Five-Star Loquats
Grown in the mountains, big and thick-fleshed
Every bite is sweet and refreshing, freshly picked
Even folks from the south might not have seen loquats this big! They’re about twice the size of White Jade loquats, and some are even as big as a tennis ball🎾.
With such a huge size, I thought the flavor might be lacking, but it turns out they’re not just sweet and full of loquat taste—they’re also incredibly juicy. You have to catch the dripping juice with your hand while peeling!
Huge Hanyuan Five-Star Loquats, super juicy
These giant loquats come from Hanyuan, Sichuan—the same place famous for black pearl cherries🍒. Known as the “First City of Sunshine in Panxi” for its year-round abundant sunlight, the area is blessed with fragrant fruits all seasons. Loquats grown here are far bigger than those from other regions, with smooth, juicy flesh that’s bursting with flavor.

Now is the perfect time to enjoy Hanyuan’s Big Five-Star loquats. After Miyi loquats go out of season, these step in to take over the “moisturizing” role.
But the tasting window is short—just 15 days from now. Lower yields also make them pricier, but we’ve secured a super deal for you: freshly picked from the orchard, shipped via JD Logistics, a 3-pound box of big fruit for only 49 yuan!

The “king” of juicy loquats
We’ve previously recommended Miyi’s “Big Five-Star” loquats, a variety that debuted not long ago and won a silver medal at the 1999 Kunming World Horticultural Expo for its quality and size.
Also a “Big Five-Star” variety, Hanyuan’s loquats are just as tasty as Miyi’s and even bigger—some reaching over 100g, similar to a kiwifruit🥝; a 50g one next to an egg is noticeably larger by several rings.

What’s even more delightful is that they’re almost sour-free, offering a pure, refreshing sweetness and loquat fragrance. The juice is especially abundant. Experienced loquat eaters know to suck the juice while biting into the flesh to avoid a little “pool” on the table.
Easy to peel by pinching a corner
The distinct five-star shape at the tail of Hanyuan Big Five-Star loquats isn’t just a variety marker—it’s also a built-in “peeling guide.” Since the skin is thinner and the juice more plentiful, you don’t need to scrape the fruit first like with other loquats; just pinch one corner of the star at the tail, give a gentle pull, and the skin comes off, revealing smooth, pudding🍮-like flesh.

Why so big and juicy?
Hanyuan sits on both banks of the Dadu River, in the Panxi Valley between the Sichuan Basin and the Tibetan Plateau. Its mineral-rich fertile soil provides ample nutrients for loquats, making them bigger and more flavorful. Grown on Hanyuan’s high mountains, far from industrial pollution, the fruit develops naturally well.
Hanyuan’s geography gives loquats their excellent qualities
The higher altitude in Hanyuan means cooler temperatures compared to Miyi, so the fruit takes longer to grow, giving it a longer “expansion period.” This is why Hanyuan’s Big Five-Star loquats are bigger, while the region’s more plentiful rainfall gives them even more juice.
Squeeze one, and juice drips down profusely
With 360° sunlight, over 12 hours of daily sun exposure, and the temperature difference between day and night from the high mountains, Hanyuan loquats better accumulate and store sugar, making them sweeter.
Beyond choosing the best variety for the right environment, orchard growers put in extra effort for quality. They use organic fertilizers, protect the fruit with bags, and also make tough decisions.
A branch can bear over a dozen loquats, but to give each fruit more room to grow, growers thin them 2-3 times, leaving only 4-5 fruits per branch. This cuts yield significantly but results in bigger, juicier fruit.
Freshly picked and shipped from the orchard
Multiple rounds of careful screening, shipped via JD Logistics
To ensure a fresh taste experience for you, we’ve coordinated with the orchard on picking, packaging, and shipping.
Vibrant Hanyuan loquats
Before picking, random samples are tested for sugar content; harvesting only starts when it reaches 8° or above. After you order, we pick them at 80% ripeness, so they arrive fresh but not overly ripe, yet still sweet and delicious.
After picking, fruits are sorted by weight—those under 30g are eliminated directly.
Only picked when sugar levels are up, and extra-large fruits are individually weighed.
To get the fresh taste to you faster and ensure freshness, we ship via JD Logistics.
Hanyuan Big Five-Star loquats have a smooth, bouncy texture like pudding, with exceptionally abundant juice. Slurp them down for a satisfying, indulgent experience. Grab them at a good price while you can!
